7 Ways To Cheer Your Kids Up On A Rainy Day

You know these days ... It's been pouring hours (or days) and the kids have the Rainy Day Blues. Here are some simple ways to cheer them and keep them entertained until the weather clears.

Make a batch of cookies

What child does not like to make - and eat, of course - cookies. Whip a batch of your favorite chocolate chip or sugar cookie dough. Make them special by some small candies like mini M & Ms. With sugar cookies can, keep theChildren employed any longer by keeping them cut out shapes with cookie cutters. To serve pour the baking cookies, and then all of a large glass of milk with the warm baked treats.

Play A Board Game

Think you have it collected, those boxes of board games that dust in the closet? Dig out one of them and ask the children to you for a fun game of Candyland, Memory or join The Game Of Life. Just grab one of your old favorites and share them with the children. Cardalso work well.

Go Play In The Rain

As long as there is not too cold outside, and of course only as long as there are no thunderstorms in the area to play in the rain can be a lot of fun. Get all in their rain gear (including boots tightened), and jump in some puddles. I bet you have, how much fun can that be - and the kids will forget not believe Mom is actually outside jumping around with him. What a great way to bond with your children.

WatchTogether Movie

When was the last time snuggling on the couch with the kids and watched a movie together? Rainy days are perfect for this task. Pop popcorn and enjoy the show. Take it even further reenacting scenes later, or a craft that relates to the film.

Build A Fort - Inside

What child does not love to build a tent or a fortress? If it pours out to bring the fun inside. Take a blanket to hide a few chairs for a quick tentor take the cushions off the sofa and build a fortress. Spread an old blanket or towel on the floor and serve lunch to the children in their tent or fort.

Play Dress Up

Playing dress up is another great opportunity for a wonderful afternoon with the children. Start by raiding your closet, and a Halloween costume you have saved for the next year. A white shirt is a doctor's white coat. Your prom dress or even a nice shirt your little girl will be in aPrincess or beauty queen. Make other props out of cardboard boxes, construction paper and anything else you can go around the house.

Get Out The Craft Box

Do you have a vehicle-Box? If not, grab some construction paper, scissors, glue and a few old magazines. The children will be busy for hours or creating collages storybooks. For younger children are always a few pounds of color and a box of crayons handy. A few tubs playdough are also a welcome distractionif it's raining outside.
